Sara of Bear & Bean will be teaching a embroidery workshop; Embroider a portrait of your pet!
Wednesday, February 11th, 2026
6pm-8pm
Each ticket includes a treat & voucher to be applied at Alexandras while the workshop is in session. Additional food & drinks will be available to purchase during the workshop.
Learn how to embroider a portrait of your pet!
Before the workshop, Sara of Bear&Bean will draw a custom portrait of your pet and a pattern for you to stitch on.
During the workshop, you will learn beginner-friendly techniques on how to fill in the design with thread, paint-by-number style.
*No experience necessary and Sara will provide all of the supplies. When finished, the embroidery can be used to decorate a piece of clothing, hat, or bag.

A little about the Artist/Teacher:
Sara Barnes is an embroidery illustrator and writer living in Seattle, Washington. She runs Bear&Bean, a studio where she stitches pet portraits and other beloved creatures. Sara chronicles the creativity of others through her fiber arts newsletter, Orts. When she’s not stitching or writing, Sara enjoys planning things that bring together the craft community. She co-founded Camp Craftaway, a day camp for crafty adults with hands-on workshops in the Seattle area.
And here are things for attendees to know:
- This is a beginner friendly workshop. No embroidery experience required.
- Every attendee will leave with a kit tailored to their pet.
- Attendees will need to send photos to Sara before the workshop.
- Attendees will need to have a smartphone or an iPad to access the digital elements of the project (the color guide and stitch guide). I can confirm this with them and bring an iPad if need be.
